Turkey, Brie, and Apple Panini with Bacon-Thyme Jam

Panini perfection lives somewhere between crunch and gooey. Unfortunately, it is oftentimes also surrounded by messy or burnt. PaperChef Parchment Bags help enhance the panini’s crunchy outside and that oh-so-satisfying, melty center.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 slices of bread (wheat or ciabatta preferred)
  • 2 tsp maple-bacon jam
  • 1 tsp whole grain mustard
  • 4 oz. brie cheese, thinly sliced
  • 2 oz. turkey breast, deli sliced
  • ½ granny smith apple, thinly sliced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat panini press (a grill pan and grill press will also work).

Start building the sandwich by layering one slice of bread with mustard, turkey, brie, apples, and jam. Season with salt and pepper before enclosing the sandwich with the other slice of bread.

Place the sandwich in a PaperChef Culinary Parchment Bag, folding the opening at least twice and crimping the edge to ensure that it is sealed, then place the bag on a panini press for three to five minutes or until the bread is crisp and the cheese has melted. Open the bag carefully as it will still be hot.
